Models, an entrepreneur, single moms, singer, pharmacist and university students are just some of the candidates that comprises the first ever search for Miss Global Philippines 2014. Twenty-two lovely and captivating women were presented to the members of the press last August 12 at the Concourse of H20 Hotel, Manila Ocean Park during the media presentation of the pageant.
Present during the ceremony is the Chief Operating Officer of the organization former beauty queen herself Stephany Stefanowitz. She told the media that the main objective of the pageant is to promote the Philippine Tourism to the world, and she believes that a woman with a strong initiative to support the government and the country as a whole can be of great service in championing our tourism industry. "That is one of the many qualities of a pageant winner that we are looking for" says Ms. Pauline Laping- president of Miss Global Philippines Foundation, Inc. "The organization believes that a beauty pageant is an effective platform to showcase what the Philippines has to offer that the reason why we are searching for the deserving Filipina who will serve as Tourism Ambassador promoting the country's rich heritage and it's world class destinations here and abroad.
The pageant's mission is to be known in fielding outstanding Filipino women who will work towards the promotion of Philippine tourism. Moreover, the pageant embraces both single and single mothers who possess not just beauty but also passion to serve and the commitment to make a difference for the Philippines and it's people.
The pageant will culminate in a grand coronation night on October 11, 7pm at the Newport Theatre of Performing Arts in Pasay City.
