PANGASINAN CELEBRATES “PONSIA”
Celebrating the province’s rich culinary heritage and abundant agricultural products and food resources, the Provincial Government of Pangasinan, in celebration of Pista’y Dayat Festival, spearheaded “Ponsia”, a culinary challenge held last April 30, 2023 at Sison Auditorium, Lingayen, Pangasinan.
In Pangasinan, the word “Ponsia” means a ‘feast”or a grad celebration highlighting delicacies from all over the province. The culinary challenge was participated in by different chefs who performed live and simultaneous cooking demonstration highlighting agricultural products and food resources of the province. Participating chefs prepared sets of dishes from seafood to meat products and the much anticipated desserts – all made from using local ingredients.
Entrepreneur and celebrity chef Jose Sarasola of GMA7 graced the culinary challenge by showing his culinary activities while the competition was ongoing. He then joined other fellow chefs in judging the culinary challenge.
