Melanie Louise Barrett, Filipino Community of United Kingdom’s (UK) Bet for Miss Tourism Philippines

Melanie Louise Barrett a stunning lady based in London, England arrived last Thursday,July 15, in time for the series of preliminary pageant competition for Miss Tourism Philippines 2015. A  Registered Nurse by Profession, Melanie is not a newbie in Pageant Competitions having won several Beauty Titles before. She was crowned Mutya Ning Pampanga in 2006 and earned a slot at the 2013 Miss World Philippines won by Megan Young who eventually became the First Filipina Miss World.

Melanie is the eldest and the only daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Nigel Barrett and Mel Barrett of Arayat, Pampanga. Belonging to a Family of Achievers, Melanie’s two brothers, Ian Barrett won as Mr. Republic of the Philippines last March and Bradley is a Champion Taekwondo Athlete, having won several National and International Taekwondo Championship Match.

Despite having been living in London for many years now, this 5’8 tall doll-like mestiza still maintains the True Filipina Values of Kind-Heartedness, God-fearing, Family-Oriented and Benevolence. One of her most unforgettable experience as a Professional Nurse is when she saves the life of a patient whom the doctors have already pronounced as clinically dead, with sheer human instinct and compassion, Melanie persistently watch-over the patient and convince the doctor that the patient is still alive, and true enough the slim chance of life, miraculously saves the life of her patient.

Taking a much needed break from her noble profession, Melanie now focuses her attention to one of her passion and life-long ambition to become a National Beauty Queen and give her the chance to represent the Philippines in an International Pageant Competition. With her statuesque height, physical beauty and pure heart, her aspirations may not be far-fetched. Some pageant experts are considering her as top bet for the crown, but still, Melanie remains humble and unaffected by the hype and pressures, and leaves her pageant fate to the Lord who knows what’s best for her. For now she says that she is just thankful for all the wonderful experiences and new found friends that she will meet at the competition and the love and support of her family and friends and enjoys every minute of it.
